Here are the rules. Please read all of them, it makes everything much better if you understand how Athanasia runs. If you are unclear about a certain procedure ie. battling, claiming etc. chances are it is explained here.
Getting Started
•To make a character to roleplay with: go to the board 'Enlist a Character'. There, make a thread (post) with your character's information. There is a form you can fill out, or you can make your own. *remember to include whether your character will start out in Utopia (living) or Dystopia (dead)
•Your character will then be accepted as quickly as possible by a staff member.
•However if there are problems with your character, you will be asked to change some things before it can be accepted.
Characters
•Athanasia is a wild horse roleplaying site, meaning all characters must be horses. However, what is interesting about this site is that there is the living/dead aspect to it.
•Living horses are basically your average horse. The deceased however, are different. Their colours are desaturated, and they obviously have no heartbeat nor the need to breathe. Differences between the two are explained in more detail in the Living and Dead Characters thread.
•As stated in the history, the dead can live again. They may do this by travelling to Utopia and then killing a living horse, effectively stealing their 'life force' and becoming alive themselves.
•No unrealistic colours are allowed ie. purple, green.
•Horses can have alliances but it isn't as important since lands are not divided up according to alliance.
•Try to be creative with names. If you are stuck for a name try looking up synoyms for a word (dictionary.com) or you can try looking up names in different languages. Avoid simple names like Star, Spot etc.
•Characters with flaws and differences are interesting. Your character can be anyway you want, but unique characters make the site fun.
•If you don't want to play a charrie anymore please make a short post in the charrie's information thread or in the OOC board if there are a few characters you are ditching.
General
•No powerplaying. This means controlling/affecting a character directly that is not yours.
•No godmodelling. This is when a character's traits are unrealistic, otherwise 'god-like'.
•Cussing is allowed, don't go overboard with it.
•Force claiming is allowed. This means any lead horse may claim another that has not already been claimed.
•Your character can be in numerous places at one time, meaning you can be doing several roleplays with that charrie. However, characters can not be in Utopia and Dystopia at the same time.
•If you are going to be absent from the site, PLEASE let us know by posting in the Away board. Your characters/territories/ranks will be left untouched.
Herds/Horse Claiming
•Currently, there is no board where lone horses can go to be claimed. So if you want your character to be accepted into a herd (claimed), make a thread on a herdland of your choice.
•A herd leader may then reply to the thread, and your character can then request to join the herd.
•Remember force claiming is allowed.
Claiming Land
• To claim an unclaimed land, make a detailed claiming post in the land of your choice.
•A staff member will then either accept or decline.
•Living horses can only claim lands in Utopia Herdlands.
Dead horses can only claim lands in Dystopia Herdlands.
•After successfully claiming a land you can choose a name for your new herd.
Breeding
•Only living horses can reproduce.
Dead ones can breed, but they will not concieve.
•Force breeding is allowed, but only in Malus (Dystopia) and Silens (Utopia). No graphic breeding.
•No graphic breeding in Cupido.
•Lead stallions have the right to breed with any of the mares in his herd, whether he forces them to or not.
•Mares may breed at the age of three.
Stallions may breed at the age of two.
•After breeding the mare can give birth immediately or wait a while if the roleplayer chooses.
Birthing
•Don't make birthing to graphic, please.
•A staff member will give the following stats when a foal is born.

Health:
•The parents decide the colour, name, alliance and who roleplays it. Feel free to request specific traits for a foal.
•You decide how fast or slow your foal grows/ages.
•Foals must be born in Novus
Fighting/Challenging
•Violence is allowed.
•God-modelling and power playing is closely monitored during fights.
•Stallions may fight mares and vice versa.
•When killing (only in Utopia as the dead cannot be killed), both roleplayers must agree.
•For dead vs. dead battles, wounds don't heal during the battle but after the battle they will heal entirely.
•Whoever makes the battle thread in Praelium/Lacesso gets to attack first.
•You get 5 attacks and only 1 dodge during the fight.
•You may include more than one attack per post.
•The fight will be judged by a staff member, and their decision may be based on the roleplaying skill, creativity etc.
•To challenge for a territory, make two posts. One will be in the territory you are battling for, and the post must state clearly you are challenging for the land. The second post will be in Praelium/Lacesso (the battling board) and it will be about the start of the fight.
•All battles started by a formal challenge should take place in Praelium, for the living, or Lacesso, for the dead.
The Worlds
•There are two worlds in Athanasia, Utopia, the living world, and Dystopia the dead world. Read Athanasia's History for more info.
•To move a character from one world to the next, please read the stickied thread in Semper and follow it's instructions.
